Long RoadSixthForm College have been working with Branching Out on an Enterprise project. The Enterprise project was designed to help students develop familiarity with real businesses as well as support businesses in and around Cambridgeshire with marketing expertise to address their business needs. For Branching Out this involved the students designing postcards that reflect the work of Branching Out so that Branching Out can use the postcards to let people know how they can get involved helping the charity.
Andy Goodwin, Head of Progression at Long Road Sixth Form College said, “We are very grateful to have been offered the chance to work with Branching Out, and we are delighted with the outcome. It has been another fantastic opportunity for students in the Long Road Enterprise Group to gain real experience of working with people in the community. All of the students involved are in Year 13 and undertook the challenge in addition to their studies, and whilst that was demanding, they all felt it was a positive way to develop their employability skills, whilst helping to contribute to a fantastic cause.
Susan Wiggans, General Manager of Branching Out said “We have really enjoyed working with Long Road Sixth Form Enterprise Group on the project. The group initially came to visit Branching Out to discuss the project and requirements for the postcard design. We then went on to have a series of meetings using FaceTime. The design is based on what the group saw at Branching Out when they came to visit us and also giving people the information they need to help us. We love the postcards and you will be able to get one by calling into either of our charity shops on the High Street in Littleport or Chatteris or by calling into White Stuff on Market Square in Ely. We would like to thank everyone who took part and wish them all the best with theirforthcoming exam results.
